The Corporation for National and Community Service has named Gannon University to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in recognition of continued commitment to community service and volunteerism. The honor was given for the 2006-07 Academic Year, during which students, faculty and staff performed 58,645 hours of community service.

The University’s total service hours represent a 14.9 percent increase from the previous academic year and represent dozens of initiatives, including food collections, blood drives, mentoring programs and health screenings. “This award is a reflection of Gannon’s commitment to its institutional Mission as well as to the local community,” said Gretchen Fairley, director of the Office of Service-Learning. .
