Meet our Fraternities!

Alpha Phi Delta (AFD)                                                                  231 West 3rd Street

Alpha Phi Delta, or APD, was founded nationally on November 5, 1914 at Syracuse University in New York. The Beta Rho Chapter of APD was established in 1959. The fraternity’s colors are purple and white. Alpha Phi Delta is an Italian-American Fraternity founded on the principle of brotherhood. This tight-knit group of men supports the Adopt-A-Highway Program as a philanthropic project and has participated in the Gannon University Relay For Life each year.

Delta Chi (DC)                                                                               510 Myrtle Street

Delta Chi was founded nationally on October 13,1890 at Cornell University in New York. The Gannon chapter was founded in April of 1971. Their colors are red and buff. Chapter members participate in volunteer opportunities throughout the Gannon community, including the Winners on Wheels Charity Run they organize each spring. The men of Delta Chi can be seen across campus in such organizations as Student Government Association and Interfraternity Council.

Pi Kappa Alpha (PKA)                                                                  515 West 7th Street

Pi Kappa Alpha, or Pikes, was founded nationally on March 1, 1868 at the University of Virginia. The fraternity’s colors are garnet and old gold and their symbols are a fire truck and a Dalmatian. The men of Pi Kappa Alpha are extremely active in all facets of campus life, including Student Government Association, ROTC and the Gannon University Relay For Life. The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha pride themselves on being scholars, leaders, athletes and gentlemen. In 2005, they were awarded with the Outstanding Greek Chapter Award.

Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE)                                                            246 West 6th Street

Tau Kappa Epsilon, or TKE, was founded nationally on January 10, 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University. Locally, the Delta Chi Chapter was founded in 1955 and celebrated 50 years of establishment this spring semester! The fraternity’s colors are cherry red and gray. The men of Tau Kappa Epsilon repeatedly show their cardinal values of love, charity and esteem in their regular participation in such activities as GIVE Day, Golden Harvest, Bayfront Pick-up, and their annual philanthropy project TKE Trampoline-A-Thon.

Zeta Beta Tau (ZBT)                                                                    920 Myrtle Street

Zeta Beta Tau, or ZBT, was founded nationally on December 29, 1898 at Columbia University in New York. Locally, the Zeta Xi Chapter was founded in February of 1990. This organization is unique because it traces its history to a number of organizations that all combined into one. This organization is the first to eliminate a “pledge” process, and welcome their new members as full and active brothers within 72 hours of membership. Their colors are blue, gold and white and their symbol is a skull and crossbones. The brothers of ZBT regularly participate in numerous campus activities including GIVE Day, Golden Harvest, and the annual ZBT-WERG Blood Drive. Individually the members of ZBT are quite active on campus in everything from Interfraternity Council to theatre productions.

Interfraternity Council (IFC)                                                     106 Keim Commons, WCC

The Interfraternity Council, or IFC, is the over-arching governing body of our 5 inter/national fraternities. It is the responsibility of the IFC to set and uphold the policies for the fraternity community. In addition, the IFC works with Panhellenic Council (governing council for sororities) to plan Greek Week, Greek Olympics, Tailgate Party, Dorm Storm and Tuesday Night Dinners. IFC meets every other Monday at 8:30pm in Stubler. They also serve as a functional representative on Gannon University’s Student Government Association (SGA).
