The University Ambassador program is a public relations effort designed to familiarize individuals throughout the campus and Erie community with the offerings of Gannon University. Students who are chosen to be University Ambassadors represent the student body at various university events and are an integral part of Gannon’s communications efforts.
University Ambassadors are representatives of Gannon University at many of the University's events. These events range from casual (such as new student check-in) to "black tie" affairs (such as the Annual Scholarship Ball). University Ambassadors perform a wide variety of tasks at these events. These tasks can include setting up the event, passing out programs, registering the guest for the event, and answering questions about Gannon University.
Individuals who are chosen to be University Ambassadors represent the "brightest and best" students at Gannon. Initial applicants must be a junior or senior and have at least 3.35 GPA to be considered, and those applicants are then screened for interviews. Candidates must be well rounded in terms of academic performance, activities, and/or athletics, and leadership. Individuals must have strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to be considered. Since the University Ambassador program is of such significance, competition is strong for positions.
