Reference

The Reference Department primary function is to support information literacy within the Gannon Community. To this end, it provides reference resources and services.

The most prominent resources include the library catalog, article indices, and Reference Collection. Within these resources, library users can find information on a variety of different subjects. The most prominent service is the Reference Desk. Most Gannon librarians provide reference service from the Desk for a majority of the hours the library is open. While the resources provide the opportunity for finding the information, the librarians at the Reference Desk provide the skills needed to effectively increase that opportunity, and cultivate it into useful knowledge.

There are three ways Gannon members can utilize the Reference Desk:
1) Phone: 871-7559
2) Email: Reference - send an online question to the Reference Librarian
3) Walk-in: the Reference Department is located on the First Floor of Nash Library
