Circulation Guidelines

Non Gannon Students:
Local College Students
Local High School Students
--- Need to show school ID
--- Must register for a Library card
--- Two book limit
--- Nominal charge may be applicable

Community Patrons:
--- Need to show valid ID
--- Must register for a Library card
--- Two book limit
--- Annual $10.00 Fee

Check out Periods and Renewals:
1. All books are checked out for a two week period (Exception: Gannon Faculty have a three month check out period)
2. All books are renewable twice, unless a hold has been placed on the book
3. Books may be renewed by telephone (call 871-7557) or in person

BOOK FINES:
1. Fines are ten cents a day per book
2. There is a five day grace period
3. If a book is overdue beyond the five day grace period, the fine is calculated from the original due date
4. Delinquent accounts may lead to loss of Library privileges and/or collection agency action

FACULTY RESERVES:
1. Applicable to the Gannon Community only
2. Refers to supplemental readings put on reserve shelves by Gannon Faculty
3. Faculty Reserve materials are listed by the Faculty member's name, course number and name, and the title of the reserve item
4. Reserve items have different statuses: LIBRARY USE ONLY; OVERNIGHT USE; ONE DAY RESERVE


Resource Usage Limitations

Cell Phones
In order to foster a quiet and creative working/studying environment for the students of Gannon University, the use of cell phones is limited to the Front Lobby and the Food Lounge, on the lower level of the library. Throughout the rest of the building, please do not let them ring.

Photocopiers
Copies are 10 cents per copy; 5 cents on prepaid student identification cards. Note: do not attempt to make transparencies on copy machines -- they melt on the rollers.
U.S. Copyright Information: The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 US Code) governs the making of photocopies and/or other reproductions of copyrighted materials. The person using the copy machine is liable for infringement.

Elevator
Please return the elevator to the first floor after each use. Before exiting the lift, press "1".

Web Sites
Nash Library provides the Gannon University community with curriculum relevant Internet sites. These sites are chosen by the librarians based upon personal experience and careful evaluation. Most of these sites will be helpful in classroom situations Some will provide reference information, and others will be intended for fun. We strive to be in total compliance with the Gannon Acceptable Computer Use Policy. We urge our users to do the same. Suggestions will be verified and explored to determine if they are of interest to the Gannon University community.
