E-ZBorrow

EZBorrow downtime starting Friday, 3/14/08 at 4pm until Monday 3/17/08 at 8am

What is E-ZBorrow?
A service provided by PALCI (Pennsylavania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.) of which Gannon is a member. The service enables the Gannon community to borrow books (and only books) unavailable at Nash Library directly from the over 40 participating academic libraries in the consortium. There is no charge for this service, and books can be checked out for 4 weeks, with a one-time 4-week renewal. Requested books are sent to Gannon, and are checked out at the Reference Desk.

How to use E-ZBorrow?
- first search the library catalog to determine if the book is available at Gannon
- if not, click on E-ZBorrow
- log in with the 14 digit barcode on the back of the library ID
- search the database by author, title, or subject
- after finding an available copy of the book, directly request it
- after requesting, email messages arrive concerning request status, including arrival notification

Why use E-ZBorrow instead of Interlibrary Loan?
E-ZBorrow books are received in 5-7 business days ---
ILL books are received in weeks

E-ZBorrow involves no paperwork ---
ILL includes filling out the form
E-ZBorrow direct feedback during borrowing process ---
ILL provides only notification of book arrival
