Dress for Success Clothing Drive

Bunny Carrig  & Mary Jo Geertson will again coordinate a clothing drive for Dress for Success.

The next clothing drive will be held October 5-16, 2009.  Drop off bins will be located outside of Beyer 317, Courthouse Commons (Cashier’s Office),  Nursing (M 249), New Student Services (5th & Peach), Waldron Campus Center (Information Desk),  Z 321 (Outside of the Dean’s office).

Two new locations this year are outside the Dean’s office in Morosky (M 133) and the Career Services Office in Palumbo Academic Center (PC 1040).

Mary Graziano, Program Director for Erie’s Dress for Success,  said that they are in need of business casual clothing and shoes, all sizes and it’s important that the items are season appropriate, i.e. Fall/Winter.  They can also use new/unused athletic socks, hosiery, trouser socks, unopened cosmetics,  and bath & body products.  Sweaters are also great as long as they are season appropriate.

As always they can use gently used/new purses and jewelry.

If members of the community have coats they can be donated and they will be used at Mercy Center for Women.

If you have any questions about the clothing drive  contact Bunny Carrig at Ext. 7613 or carrig002@gannon.edu or Mary Jo Geertson at Ext. 5858 or email geertson001@gannon.edu

GUSSA GOES GREEN

When you start to green your office you’re helping to reduce global warming pollution, preserve forests and biodiversity, and keep our air and water clean.  You can also help protect your bottom line because environmentally responsible businesses are efficient businesses.

GUSSA has undertaken a program to assist in cutting down the Carbon Dioxide (CO2 ) in our offices.  Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas behind global warming.   By adding air-filtering plants into your office or home they clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the environment.

GUSSA will now be giving away healthy, oxygen giving plants as door prizes for meetings, programs and events.  This way your plant will replenish clean fresh oxygen while you work.   When your plant needs to be divided or produces ‘babies’, cut them and share them with another office.  The goal of GUSSA is to have plants all over campus and to have all of us breathing clean fresh air.  List of air-filtering plants
