The first time taking college classes...the first time meeting your academic advisor...the first time exploring new clubs and organizations...the first time selecting your own classes...the first time exploring your faith and the faiths of others...the first time determining the paths of your own future...
The first year of higher education can be an exciting, daunting, invigorating, frustrating, empowering, and frightening experience. At Gannon University, we recognize that our first-year students are experiencing the first times listed above, as well as many more that may come as a surprise. To help each and every first-year student, Gannon has put together the First-Year Experience, a series of programs, events, activities, and academic exercises intended to provide valuable support and guidance as students negotiate their first year of higher education. Included in the First-Year Experience are New Student Orientation, Preview G.U., First-Year seminars, Learning Communities, Lifecore events, counseling and academic support services, Student Life, campus organizations, Campus Ministry, and many other programs, offices, and services. The intentions of the dozens of individuals working in each of these areas are to aid all of our first-year students to not only be successful in their educational progress at Gannon but also become prepared and positive contributors in our communities and in our world.
Welcome to the First-Year Experience - the first step on the ladder to academic and personal success.
