EIA’s KELLY FREDERICKS TO SPEAK TO GANNON BUSINESS AMBASSADORS

Erie International Airport Executive Director Kelly Fredericks will be at Gannon University on Tuesday, Oct. 24 to unveil a new marketing strategy for the airport.

Fredericks will address the Gannon Business Ambassadors Group from 7:35-9 a.m. in the Yehl Room of Gannon’s Waldron Campus Center, 124 West Seventh Street. His presentation is titled Your Erie Airport: Aggressively Pursuing International and Domestic Economic Opportunities.

Under Fredericks’ leadership, the airport garnered national attention and awards last year and is in the midst of several major improvements, including a runway extension project and development of an International Trade Center.

In August, Gov. Ed Rendell announced that the airport had been selected for $2.5 million in state capital grant money to fund the trade center project, which Fredericks has said will have a “huge” impact on economic development locally and is the “missing piece” the airport has needed. The trade center could create up to 100 new jobs, according to news reports.

Fredericks has spoken to the Gannon Business Ambassadors Group in the past. In 2003, he introduced the successful Fly Erie marketing campaign to the members.

For more information on the event, contact Mark Gaeta, coordinator of Gannon’s Business Ambassadors Program, at ext. 7466.
