GANNON UNIVERSITY ANNUAL FUND SETS NEW RECORD WITH $1.1 MILLION

Total voluntary support to university approaches $5 million for fiscal year 2006-07

Many of Gannon and Villa Maria College’s more than 32,000 successful alumni, who live in every state and in 48 countries, are giving back to Gannon University because they credit their education with transforming their lives, said President, Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D.

Gannon’s gifts during the 2006-07 Fiscal Year, which ended on June 30, 2007, totaled nearly $5 million ($4,959,188), which was the largest amount raised in Gannon’s history.

Gannon also received an additional $4.2 million in state and federal funding this past year, including a $4 million state capital grant to establish the Erie Technology Incubator (ETI).

During this past year, the Annual Fund also raised $1,118,488, an increase of $140,208 over the previous year’s total. The average alumni gift also rose to $612, a 128% increase over last year’s average gift of $268. In addition, $2,273,127 was raised for the endowment.

To date, Gannon’s Power To Transform Comprehensive Campaign has raised $21,000,817, which is 70% of the total goal of $30 million. “Gannon’s Alumni and Board of Trustee members have contributed the most to this Campaign. Their gifts help to support student scholarships, endowed professorships, and faculty research, as well as to improve our facilities,” said Susan Black-Keim, Vice President for University Advancement.

Since the Campaign celebrated its public kickoff in May, 2006, 10 regional Campaign receptions have been held across the country to encourage alumni involvement and support. Upcoming Campaign receptions include: Buffalo, Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

If you would like more information about how individuals, corporations, or foundations can contribute to the Power To Transform Comprehensive Campaign, contact Britt Dyer Daehnke `98,`05M, Campaign Coordinator, at ext. 7261 or daehnke001@gannon.edu.
