Always keep your room locked.

Keep an inventory of valuable possessions and record serial numbers.

Don’t mark your keys or key chain with your name or address and never loan your keys to anyone.

Don’t let unfamiliar people into your living space.

Don’t prop open doors that are locked.

Call the Office of Police and Safety if you see strangers loitering in and around the student living buildings.

Walk with a friend or a University escort whenever possible.

Avoid isolated places.

Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to return.

Do not leave personal property unattended in public areas.

Always report obscene, harassing, and threatening phone calls.

Always lock your bicycle up using a hardened steel padlock

Always wear a helmet and obey the traffic laws when riding your bicycle.

Keep your vehicle locked when it is parked and when you are driving.

Do not keep valuables in your car in plain view. Lock them in the trunk.

Notify the Office of Student Living (871.7564) of lost or stolen Gannon ID Cards as soon as possible.

Learn the location of the emergency exits and fire equipment.

If you detect a fire in a residence hall or campus building:

Activate the fire alarm on the way out of the building

Exit by the nearest stairway.
