Assistant
Resident Director Graduate Assistantship
Gannon, a Catholic university, seeks graduate
students for Assistant Resident Director vacancies. Compensation for
these nine-month positions includes tuition remission (12 credits per academic
year), room, and an annual stipend. Responsibilities include the
administration and supervision of undergraduate housing facilities, fostering
a sense of community within the living unit through programming, crisis
intervention, and mediation; staff supervision; and various administrative
duties. The successful candidate must be able to support the
University’s mission.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree,
application to a graduate program at Gannon, and two years’ residence life
leadership experience as a Resident Assistant. A valid driver’s license
is required.

Graduate Research Assistantships
Gannon University, a Catholic
university, seeks Graduate Research Assistantships for the Computer
Information Science Department for the spring 2009 semester; other positions
will be available for the fall 2009 semester. Candidates will work 10
hours/week conducting research in close partnership with faculty.
Compensation and benefits include a stipend, tuition for six credits per
semester, and some university fees. Appointments are renewable per semester
based on faculty evaluation.
Qualifications:
must have applied for
entrance into a master’s degree program (minimum undergrad GPA of 3.5
required); IT industry experience is preferred but not required. Candidates
must be highly motivated, and have strong organizational skills with the
ability to work independently. Must be able to support and promote the
University’s Mission.

Computer and
Information Science Graduate Internships
The Keystone Software Development Institute (KSDI) of Gannon
University, a Catholic university, seeks motivated students interested in
pursuing a master’s degree while supporting innovative, flexible and reliable
software research and development. The institute includes select Gannon
faculty, project management staff, and students working primarily on industry
research and development (R&D) projects. In particular, the institute is
oriented to support new technology development, technology transfer and other
similar efforts aimed at encouraging the advancement of information
technology.
Graduate Interns will participate in one or more R&D projects
while pursuing an MS degree in Computer and Information Science (20 hours/week
during the academic year; 40 hours/week during the summer). Applicable program
concentrations are Web Development, Software Engineering and Information
Systems. Benefits include a stipend, full tuition, and some fees. Typical
appointments are annual with an option to renew; with program completion in 18
to 24 months.

Sports Information Graduate
Assistant
Gannon University, a Catholic university
and member of the NCAA Division II and GLIAC, invites applications for a
12-month Graduate Assistant in Sports Information, to begin August 1, 2008;
possibly renewable for a second year. The successful candidate will interact
closely with the Athletic Department and the Communications Office and must be
able to support and promote the University’s mission. Compensation includes
full tuition waiver and a stipend.
Duties include extensive copywriting,
editing, design and layout of web site, publications, releases, posters,
schedule cards, marketing, as well as record keeping, web page maintenance,
writing articles for alumni publications, and game-day obligations of
programs, notes, statistics, etc. Experience in Statcrew and Adobe PageMaker
is preferred. This position will be given the responsibility of several of
Gannon’s 18 intercollegiate programs.
