CTRL+ALT+DEL...
It's Not Just For Logging On!
After you have logged on to a Windows XP/2000 machine,
pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del again brings up the Windows XP/2000 Security dialog box
.
1. Change Your Password
Changing your password can only be done on a Windows XP/2000 machine logged into the lakeerie domain. Once you have done the Ctrl+Alt+Del thing, select
Change Password...
Type old, new, and confirm new password. That's it!
2. Task Manager
Task Manager closes programs that are not responding. Instead of having to reboot the whole machine, you can just close the one program that is not responding.
Now if you are in Word and Word is not responding, you may be better off
rebooting. Windows XP/2000 will try to recover your document
.
Simply hit the reset button, log back in, and open up Word. Remember, this may not always work, but if you have no other choice, give it a chance.
3. Log Off/Shut Down
By the way, you can also log off and shut down from here. It may only save you a few seconds, but I thought I would mention it.
