Scan for Viruses
All PCs in the computer labs have SOPHOS Endpoint Protection installed. Every two weeks virus definition files are updated and hard drives are scanned.
Incoming document are also scanned on a continual basis. If you get a virus warning while trying to open a file, follow the instructions as they appear to remove the virus. If you get an error please report it using the
problem report form.
If you want to scan a diskette for viruses, follow the instructions below.
1.) Start the
SOPHOS Endpoint Protection
software by double clicking the icon on the desktop or select
Start...Programs...SOPHOS Endpoint Protection...SOPHOS Endpoint Protection
.
2.) Select
A:
under
Drive
and deselect all others. Then click on
Scan Now
.
3.) SOPHOS Endpoint Protection will inform you if a virus was found, what action was taken, and if there were any problems.
