The "2007-2008 Placement Report - Undergraduate Programs -
Survey Responses” is based on data provided by 409 graduates who
responded to the Placement Survey or on data provided by their academic
departments. The calculations do not include the 62 (13.2%) graduates
on whom placement data was unavailable.

91.9% of graduates responding to the survey indicated they
were employed in a major related field (51.3%) or continuing their
education (40.6%). This overall figure remains the same as reported
in the 2006-2007 report, with graduates employed in major decreasing
by 2.2%, and those continuing their education increasing by 2.2%.

Placement in all colleges is strong, with the
unemployment rate of the graduates decreasing from 2.3% to 1.5%.

6.6% reported being employed in work not related to their
major. The Division of Humanities had the highest percentage of
graduates accepting positions not related to their major (14.1%).

13.2% of the graduates did not respond to the mailed survey,
phone calls, or emails, and academic departments were not aware of
their placement status.

100% of the graduates in the following majors (with five or
more graduates) were placed in major related employment or
continuing their education: Communication Arts, English, Political
Science, Social Studies, Social Work, Business Administration-4
yrs., International Business, Elementary Education/Early Childhood,
Health Science, Radiologic Science-2 yr., Respiratory Care-2 yr.,
Nursing BSN, Science, Electrical Engineering, MIS, Mechanical
Engineering.

40.6% of graduates were attending professional school,
graduate school, or continuing their education. The School of
Health Sciences (76.4%) and the School of Sciences (70.1%) had the
largest number of graduates continuing their education.
