ATTORNEY TO GIVE GUEST LECTURE ON LIFE, LEGACY OF DR. KING The legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be the subject of a Nov. 30 guest lecture at Gannon University. The lecture, to be given by attorney Cornell L. Moore, is titled “Dr. King’s Legacy: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow… Maybe.” Moore, a partner with the Minneapolis, Minn., law firm of Dorsey & Whitney, also will discuss the Civil Rights movement and how it impacted him personally. He said, “Segregation tends and intends to deprive you of hope – ALL hope. But I realized after and during the years of protest that there was a bright future out there.” Moore participated in the 1963 March on Washington and twice heard King lecture in person, while Moore was a student at Virginia Union University and at Howard University. He also will discuss numerous aspects of his life, from growing up in the deep south (Statesboro, Ga.), and now living and working in the upper Midwest (Minneapolis). Moore’s lecture is free and open to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Yehl Room of Gannon’s Waldron Center, 124 West Seventh Street. The lecture is presented by Gannon University’s Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee.
