GANNON, CHARLESTON SIGN PHARMACY AFFILIATION AGREEMENTS

Gannon University and the School of Pharmacy at the University of Charleston in Charleston, W.Va., recently signed two affiliation agreements.

Under the terms of the agreements, the University of Charleston (UC) annually will reserve a total of ten seats for Gannon undergraduates, five in two different programs leading to a clinical Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D). The University of Charleston will begin admitting students into its new School of Pharmacy in the fall of 2006.

The Charleston “2 + 4” Accelerated Pre-Pharmacy Program annually will reserve five seats for Gannon students who successfully complete a two-year undergraduate program in pre-pharmacy at Gannon and then spend four years completing the professional curriculum of the Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm. D) at the University of Charleston.

The Charleston “3 + 4” Dual Degree Doctor of Pharmacy Program annually will reserve five seats for Gannon students who successfully complete a three-year undergraduate degree program at Gannon and then a four-year professional pharmacy program for a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree at the University of Charleston.

To be eligible for either program, students must meet specific admissions criteria at Gannon University as freshmen; transfer students at Gannon are not eligible to apply.

The University of Charleston is a small, private university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association.

For more information about all pre-pharmacy programs and agreements, contact Elisa Konieczko, Ph.D., director, pre-pharmacy programs at Gannon, at 871-7651.
