ANNUAL HOMECOMING/REUNION WEEKEND STARTS FRIDAY

        Gannon University will welcome back hundreds of Gannon and Villa Maria College alumni during the school’s fifth annual Alumni Homecoming/Reunion Weekend.

            Four classes – 1955, ‘65, ‘80, and ’95 – will be celebrating landmark reunions during the event, scheduled for Oct. 7-9. A number of other alumni groups, including African American, Honors Program, Student Government Association, Heritage Society (graduates of 1954 or earlier), and Occupational Therapy, also will be celebrating reunions.

The schedule of activities for the weekend:

Friday, Oct. 7 – Alumni College (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Heritage Society Luncheon (12-2 p.m.), Trolley Tours (1-3 p.m.), Gitnik Manse Open House (2-3 p.m.), class of ’55 Gathering (7-9 p.m.), alumni socials at Sullivan’s Pub, Plymouth Tavern, and Sherlock’s/Park Place (7 p.m.), and African American Alumni Reception (8-10 p.m.).

Saturday, Oct. 8 – Campus Tours (9-10 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.), Honors Program Alumni Breakfast (9-11 a.m.), Alumni Tailgate Luncheon and Reunion Recognition Program (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.), GLIAC football, Gannon vs. Northwood (1 p.m.), Kids Fair (1:30-3:30 p.m.), Villa Maria Alumnae High Tea (2:30-4 p.m.), renewal of marriage vows (2:30-4 p.m.), renewal of marriage vows Mass (4-5 p.m.), All Alumni Cocktail Party and class photos (6 p.m.), Class of ’55 cocktails, dinner, and class photo (6 p.m.), Special Alumni Event (9 p.m. to 12 a.m.).

Sunday, October 9 Mass at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel (11 a.m.), Alumni Brunch with the President (12 p.m.).

  • Tuesday, October 4 Graduate and Professional School Fair: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Yehl Room. Some 50 schools, representing more than 100 academic programs in areas like business, education, engineering, health sciences, law, the liberal arts, and the social sciences, are expected to participate.   • Tuesday, October 4 Lecture Series on the Eucharist, part III: Featuring Father Scott Detisch, Ph.D., a faculty member at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, N.Y., and a former Gannon faculty member. Offered at 7:30 p.m. in Zurn 104.

  • Thursday, October 6 Community Mass: 11 a.m. in the Chapel.

  • Friday-Sunday, Oct. 7-9 Alumni Homecoming/Reunion Weekend: Numerous events and activities are scheduled, including trolley tours, class dinners/socials, renewal of marriage vows, and brunch with the President. Call ext. 7473 for more info.
