FSU PROFESSOR TO GIVE HOLOCAUST LECTURE THURSDAY

Nathan Stoltzfus, associate professor of history at Florida State University, will be the featured speaker at Gannon University’s Holocaust Remembrance presentation.

Stoltzfus’ lecture, titled, “Resistance of the Heart: Intermarriage and the Rosenstrasse Protest in Nazi Germany,” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25. The event will be held in Zurn 104 and is free and open to the public.

The presentation is part of Stoltfus’ award-wining history of a successful public protest by non-Jews to save their Jewish spouses in Nazi Germany. Stoltzfus will examine why Hitler gave in to these protestors and allowed Jews to survive at the height of World War II and the Holocaust.

Gannon University is sponsoring the presentation as part of the larger Northwestern Pennsylvania Holocaust Remembrance Network. From March through May, the Network will sponsor events exploring a range of Holocaust-related issues.

For more information on Stoltzfus’ presentation or other events sponsored by the Holocaust Remembrance Network, call ext. 7237.
