regulations sanctions for over 21
All residents of any apartment
designated as Over-21 housing must be 21 years of age. Students wishing to
reside in Over-21 apartment housing may sign up for the housing by stopping
in the Student Living Office and requesting approval. No apartment will be
designated with Over-21 status until all individuals residing in the
apartment are 21. Until that time, alcohol will not be permitted in the
apartment.
All rules and regulations in
effect in other on-campus housing facilities are also in effect in the
Over-21 housing facility with the exception of the regulations regarding the
possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages and the regulations
regarding the presence of “empties” in the apartment. Residents of the
Over-21 facility must be observe all regulations including those governing
the use of alcohol, when they are present in any apartment, room or facility
not designated as an Over-21 facility.
Residents of the designated
Over-21 apartment may possess and consume alcohol in their apartment with
the following stipulations:
- Residents may not serve or sell to minors or consume alcohol in the
apartment.
- with minors present in the apartment The number of individuals present
in the apartment may not exceed twice the number of people who reside in
the apartment if alcohol is present.
- Residents may not possess or consume beer balls, kegs or grain alcohol
in their apartments.
- Residents may not consume alcohol outside their apartments (i.e.,
hallways, entryways, outside of the building, parking lot. etc.)
- Residents must respect courtesy hours 24 hours per day.
- Doors to the apartment must remain closed if alcohol is being
consumed.
Sanctions
may be imposed for violating any of the above regulations and will be
similar to those presently in effect for University housing facilities. In
addition, students who violate the above policies may lose their Over-21
privileges. |
