For many graduates, large metropolitan areas such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles provide the best exposure to the job market. Gannon alumni from the theatre and communication arts program find success in those locations, as well as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and of course, Erie. Graduates may also find careers in teaching, counseling, law, and in public or private recreational programs. Many also pursue graduate education.
Employment projections for positions in theatre and communication arts through the year 2014 are expected to continue increasing. Positions available in related fields include: arts manager, community theatre director, field producer, copy writer, editor, news photographer, media sales representative, account executive, marketing consultant, radio and television personalities, public relations, production designer and more.
