The Respiratory Care Department offers unique educational opportunities! We offer both 2-year Associate and 4-year Baccalaureate degree options.

Both degrees qualify students to become  Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT).

The two-year Associate degree provides the student with an excellent foundation in Respiratory Care. The four-year degree Bachelor degree is designed for individuals who wish to specialize or work toward leadership positions within the profession. Bachelor degree students, in conjunction with their faculty advisor, may choose desired areas of professional specialization in their clinical rotations.

Professional specializations include:

  • Neonatal Care
  • Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics
  • Helicopter Transport
  • Patient Education
  • Management
  • Homecare

In addition to browsing our site, you can print or view our latest Respiratory Care Brochure. I also invite you to contact me if you have any questions about the Respiratory Care programs at Gannon University. My contact information is to the left.

Did You Know Factoid

You can live without food for a few weeks. You can live without water for a few days. But, if you are deprived of air, you will die within a few minutes.

Respiratory Therapists work with physicians and nurses -- 90% of them work in a hospital setting.

Employment opportunities are projected to increase for the next 10-15 years.

GUSRCS is the Gannon University Society for Respiratory Care Students.
