The DPT Program has moved to our new location! We are now located at the Robert H. Morosky Academic Center (MAC). Our new location has a lot of natural light, larger lab space, new offices and more storage! We’ve spent a semester settling into our new space and are slowly getting used to new routines. All of the Health Profession programs (Nursing, Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiologic Sciences, and Sport & Exercise Science) now all the MAC home. This will hopefully allow greater collaboration among programs in our curricula and research.
Please stop by to see the new building and spaces. The DPT program is located on the first floor of the building, located at 150 West 10th St. (between West 9th and 10th Sts. and Sassafras St.)
We are pleased to announce that the program was granted full reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) for the period 2009 – 2019. CAPTE is the only accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education to accredit entry-level physical therapist education programs.
Gannon University’s DPT program awarded 35 DPT degrees on May 9, 2009. The program also awarded 10 transitional DPT degrees to practicing clinicians. Congratulations to the DPT and tDPT class of 2009!

All three DPT classes came together for the 2nd Annual Celebrate Community Health Initiatives. Our students contributed over 4800 hours of service to over 30 community organizations. Examples of projects included facilitating a successful grant application for a local organization that needed to build a ramp for therapeutic riding participants, providing program activities for physical and nutritional education at Kids’ Cafes in Erie, and providing information health fairs at local senior housing apartments.
Betsy DeAngelo joined the DPT program as Program Secretary. She has been a wonderful addition to our group, keeping the faculty organized and assisting with daily work efforts. Betsy joins us with several years of experience in the military, a prosthetic/orthotic office, and most recently the Gannon University Small Business Development Center. We are thrilled to have her!
