Dr. Kanter earned his B.A. in psychology from University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Education and Psychology from University of Texas at Austin. He has been on education faculty at many colleges and universities for over 36 years.

In addition to academics, Dr. Kanter has spent many years in the private practice of professional/business coaching and brings this knowledge and ability to his work at Gannon. After several years as adjunct professor at both Mercyhurst and Gannon, he became a part time specialist at PSLD, and recently was appointed full time in PSLD.

Along with tutoring in several subjects, Dr. Kanter has special expertise in education, psychology, assistive technology, legal advocacy for disabilities, reading efficiency and overall learning efficiency/improvement.
