Gannon University has a special program for students who possess average to gifted intellectual potential and high motivation, have been diagnosed with a learning disability or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and otherwise qualified for admission to the University.
Support services include:
Freshman year includes a two-credit Advocacy Seminar that addresses various issues, including familiarization with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), students’ legal rights, study skills, socialization and more.
Students in the program may select any academic major if they meet the requirements of the major. Otherwise, they declare a major at the beginning of their sophomore year. However, students seeking a Bachelor’s degree may complete it within five years, and those enrolled in an Associate’s degree program may finish within three years. Students pay regular tuition and fees for the academic year, plus an additional $600 for the cost of support services.
Students who do not choose to select these comprehensive services and do not enroll in the Program for Students with Learning Disabilities will still be eligible to receive basic services free-of-charge through the Office of Disability Support Services.
