College Year 1 (Freshman)
Fall Semester
- Meet with freshman/sophomore advisor to discuss pre-med program
- Complete first semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement science courses: BIOL 122/123, CHEM 111/112
Spring semester
- Visit Considering a Career in Medicine website.
- Begin exploring opportunities to shadow physicians, volunteer in hospitals, etc.
- Complete second semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement courses: BIOL 124/125, CHEM 114/115
- Meet with freshman/sophomore advisor to discuss curriculum and progress
Summer
- Begin to accumulate experience shadowing physicians, volunteering, etc.
- Take summer classes if necessary
College Year 2 (Sophomore)
Fall Semester
- Touch base with freshman/sophomore advisor early in semester
- Complete third semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement science courses: CHEM 221/222, Additional courses in academic major
- Begin to investigate internship or research opportunities
- Meet with freshman/sophomore advisor
- Declare Academic Major by end of semester (see Declaring a Major)
Spring Semester
- Participate in pre-med activities (attend speaker presentations, etc.)
- Continue accumulating clinical experience
- Identify summer internship or research opportunities
- Complete fourth semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement science courses: CHEM 224/225, Additional courses in academic major
Summer
- Continue to gain clinical, research, or internship experience
- Take summer classes if necessary
College Year 3 (Junior)
Fall Semester
- Meet early with the Director of Pre-Med and Related Programs
- Participate in pre-med activities (attend speaker presentations, etc.)
- Continue to gain clinical or research experience
- Complete fifth semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement science courses: PHYS 105/106, Additional courses in academic major

Spring Semester
- Schedule an interview with the Director of Pre-Med and Related Programs
- Meet with Director of Pre-Med and Related Programs to discuss: Completion of University and Major requirements, medical school options, the application process
- Participate in pre-med activities (attend speaker presentations, etc.)
- Continue to gain clinical or research experience
- Complete sixth semester of pre-med curriculum and core requirement science courses: PHYS 108/109, Additional courses in academic major

- Ask for letters of evaluation from faculty (2 in sciences, 1 in humanities)

- Complete autobiography and deliver to Director of Pre-Med
- Complete AACOMAS application
- Confirm that letters of evaluation have been sent to Director of Pre-Med
- Notify Director once primary applications have been sent by AACOMAS
- Take summer MCAT if necessary
College Year 4 (Senior)
Fall Semester
- Complete supplementary application materials for schools to which you have applied
- Meet with Director of Pre-Med and Related Programs to discuss: Completion of University and Major requirements, and the status of application/admission process at schools to which you have applied
- Work toward completion of degree requirements
- Participate in pre-med activities (attend speaker presentations, etc.)
- Continue to gain clinical or research experience
- Interview at medical schools
Spring Semester
- Meet with Director of Pre-Med to discuss status of admission process
- Complete degree requirements
- Participate in pre-med activities (attend speaker presentations, etc.)
- Complete clinical or research experience
- Continue to interview at medical schools
- Make interim and final decisions about medical school choice
- Immediately notify schools that you decide not to attend
- Graduate
