Students are admitted to the Gannon Physician Assistant program as Freshmen (or as transfer students in a later year). There is no 'pre-PA' period and there is no re-application for the 'professional' program after your second year. As long as you maintain the grade requirements in the required curriculum you will be in the program (and taking PA courses) for your entire 5 years.
In the Gannon PA program you will earn a bachelor's degree after your fourth year.
Gannon's Physician Assistant program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). http://arc-pa.org At the program's most recent accreditation the Gannon PA Program recieved accreditation through 2010.
Gannon Physician Assistant students have the oportunity to conduct evidence based research. There are opportunities for collaboration with faculty on research projects, and many of the papers written are destined for submission for publication. Research conducted by Gannon PA students has been published in peer review magazines and presented at state, national and international conferences.
Students at Gannon can explore study abroad opportunities while developing a values-centered, liberal arts foundation--Gannon's "Core of Discovery."
Professionalism
Gannon's Physician Assistant program focuses on innovative practices in the profession and provides the student with background and education in business practices.
Following completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification exam given by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), http://www.nccpa.net/

Gannon Physician Assistant professors are highly qualified and clinically active professionals. Most hold offices at the state or national level in professional Physcian Assistant organizations, and all maintain their board certification.
