Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE) was established in 1958. Its purpose is to promote research and scholarship among Occupational Therapy students nationwide. The Gamma Delta chapter at Gannon University was just formed last year (2005); there were 10 new initiates from the graduate, senior, and junior classes.
For the 2006/2007 school year Meghan Pomeroy is the chapter president, Dave Austin is the Vice President, Jelena Holmberg is secretary, and Stephanie Buckwell is treasurer. Professor Bernadette Hattjar is the faculty sponsor. In Fall semester PTE will be working with the Erie Chapter of the American Cancer Society on the Society's "The Walk for a Cure/Strides" and is discussing providing tutoring for OT students. Plans are being made for the next initiation, which will take place in January 2007.
