Internships are a field-based extension of classroom learning allowing students to put theory and methods into practice, to gain valuable skills and experience and to assist in clarifying career goals. While internships are not required for either the undergraduate or graduate degree, students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of such opportunities in their field of interest.
The ideal internship is a full-time paid position during the summer months since a more regular schedule allows a student to take on greater responsibility and more meaningful projects.
