Gannon University is pleased to offer a number of education options for today's teachers. If you're looking to earn your Masters degree, please note that Gannon offers the M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction at a number of locations throughout central and western Pennsylvania in our popular teacher-friendly schedule. Act 48 Electives

New & Current Students: (Register for Courses)

Realizing the often busy schedules of educators, Gannon's elective and Act 48 courses are offered on-line and in many outreach areas throughout Western Pennsylvania. Gannon University wants to support Pennsylvania's educators with the best current course topics and also wishes to offer these courses at a reduced tuition rate.

The Elective Cohort courses are based on the Gannon University teacher-friendly model that includes:

  • Times and locations reflecting the schedule of Pennsylvania teachers
  • Courses offered at a time that does not conflict with M.Ed. cohort courses
  • Courses taught utilizing the Gannon University's practitioner model that emphasizes theory allied to practical application
  • Courses available for both cohort graduate students as well as educators seeking Act 48 credit
  • Courses aligning to the needs of Pennsylvania's educational community and linked to school district initiatives
  • Instructional deliveries that included traditional, on-line and blended courses

For the convenience of educators looking for a Masters degree, Gannon University offers the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Erie and many outreach areas throughout Western Pennsylvania .

The Gannon University M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction is a 31 credit, non-thesis, portfolio-based program. This Master's degree focuses on the classroom teacher as a developer of long-range curriculum, instruction, assessment, and classroom materials. The intended result is a more motivated, engaged, and higher performing student. The Gannon core curriculum is 25 credits, plus 6 credits of electives and a one credit portfolio project.

Graduate Students pursuing the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction may simultaneously prepare for an advanced certification. The Pathway programs are offered in Erie and many outreach areas throughout Western Pennsylvania. The following links will provide additional information on the various Pathways.
