Dr. Vernaza received her Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the University of Notre Dame. She joined the Mechanical Engineering faculty of Gannon University that same year after a Visiting Professor Position at Notre Dame. Dr. Vernaza worked as a Ship Manager in Braswell Shipyards before her graduate work and sail as an engine cadet for two 6-months periods before receiving her Bachelor’s degree.

Hobbies:

  • I am a devoted Notre Dame Football Fan. I enjoy outdoor activities: biking, rollerblading, kayaking, camping, hiking. I love to read. I appreciate different cultures, customs and traditions; therefore, traveling is a must in life. I love wine and the culture behind it. Go irish!
