  • The Gannon/General Electric Graduate Work-Study Program has been active for ten years. Gannon masters of mechanical Engineering students are enrolled full time at the university and work half time during the academic year and full time during the summer at General Electric Company on projects related to locomotives and off highway propulsion systems. Several Gannon mechanical engineering faculty members are student mentors for the program.
  • Recent Gannon mechanical engineering graduates are currently enrolled in PhD programs at Georgia Institute of Technology, University at Buffalo, Virginia Polytechnic and State University, and University of Michigan.
  • Industrial Co-op and internship opportunities continue to be strong in the region.
  • Placement for Gannon mechanical engineering graduates during the recent economic downturn has been excellent with students obtaining mechanical engineering positions with small, mid-size, and large companies.
  • Two mechanical engineering professors, Professors Mahesh Aggarwal and Michael Panza, were recently awarded the “Distinguished Faculty Award” at Gannon University.
  • Professor Gong Chen was recently presented with the ASME Internal Combustion Engine Division award and became an ASME.
  • Professor Aggarwal is completing his term as ASME Region V Vice-President
