Welcome to the Bioinformatics Program

Welcome! Thanks for taking time to learn about the bioinformatics program at Gannon University.

Bioinformatics is a field of science where bio-technology and computer science merge into a broad-based single discipline.

This emerging new field offers exciting and dynamic opportunities for study, careers and professional growth. Recent studies show a rapid growth of jobs and revenue in this area. Some call it the renaissance science of our age and consider it the career choice of the decade.

Gannon students are educated in an environment that fosters inquisitive, analytical and creative thinking. The liberal arts core curriculum along with major courses will provide not only the technical skills, but also the people skills needed to succeed professionally.

You'll also find class sizes at Gannon are small. This enables our faculty to work closely with you to develop your course schedule, introduce you to the University, and most importantly, ensure that you quickly learn why a Gannon education is a unique and rewarding experience.

Come share the Gannon experience. We think you'll find we are the right place for you. If you have any questions about Gannon or about the Bioinformatics major, don't hesitate to contact me at (814) 871-7692 or yoo@gannon.edu.
