“Put your future in (Mayan) Ruins”
February 24-March 4, 2006

This is the itinerary of a recent trip that students took as part of the study-abroad activities of the archaeology program.

Dr. Suzanne Richard (Coordinator: Archaeology & Culture Minor) and Dr. Marta Acosta (Spanish Program) led this fantastic archaeological trip to explore past and present day Mayan Civilization and Culture; to experience an actual dig site; and, to see the wonders of the largest untouched rainforest north of the Amazon. We toured the spectacular Mayan ruins of Lamanai and Caracol, as well as Tikal in Guatemala. We also spent a day on an actual dig at Rio Bravo. There were night jungle walks in a spectacular nature preserve and a birding excursion to see exotic bird species, and much, much more.

See Dr. Richard (Pal 2216, ext. 5605) for all the details about the trip.
