2010 EXCAVATIONS AT KHIRBAT ISKANDAR, JORDAN:  May 20 – June 28

Application deadline January 31, 2010.  Costs for volunteers for room and board: $2200 per 5 weeks room & board.  Minimum length of stay for volunteers is 2 weeks. Airfare is not included in the price, but we will have a group flight to keep down costs. There will be optional weekend trips, as well as a trip to Egypt at the end of the dig. Plans are being made for a possible trip to Syria over the mid-session break. Volunteers will be housed in a delightful hotel in the nearby town of Madaba, two per room, meals, swimming pool and within walking distance of downtown.  There are 3 academic credits offered for the field school, at a cost of $540/credit from Gannon University. Please address all payments to "Gannon University - Khirbat Iskandar Expedition".

Some important finds in past seasons: the only EB IV gate and one of the earliest bronze spearheads in the southern Levant; a range of artifacts and restorable vessels from two destruction levels. The objective for 2010 is lateral exposure of the urban settlement within the fortifications.
