Committee Responsibilities
The Retention Committee shares responsibility with the Academic Advising Center in providing direction and oversight of the University's undergraduate student retention effort.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide oversight and direction of undergraduate student retention planning and initiatives;
- Review data, literature, policies, procedures, and systems affecting undergraduate students;
- Develop undergraduate student retention plan, review plan on an annual basis, and make modifications as needed;
- Disseminate retention information to the Gannon community;
- Make recommendations to the Dean of Enrollment Services and Provost Council regarding retention initiatives.
Sub-Committees
COMMUNICATIONSPurpose: Effectively communicate committee progress and information to campus community utilizing various communication tools.
UPPERCLASSMENPurpose: Research and analyze retention data and trends; recommend strategies and initiatives involving upperclassmen, specifically sophomores.
MAROON & GOLDPurpose: Organize and coordinate both the nomination and election process for the
Maroon and Gold Awards.
The Retention Committee consists of at least one faculty representative from each academic college as well as:

Faculty Senate
Financial Aid
Information Technology Services
New Student Services
Registrar
Student Government
Student Living
The Committee meets at least once a month during the academic year. Sub-committees meet as necessary.
