Committee Responsibilities

The Retention Committee shares responsibility with the Academic Advising Center in providing direction and oversight of the University's undergraduate student retention effort.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide oversight and direction of undergraduate student retention planning and initiatives;

  • Review data, literature, policies, procedures, and systems affecting undergraduate students;

  • Develop undergraduate student retention plan, review plan on an annual basis, and make modifications as needed;

  • Disseminate retention information to the Gannon community;

  • Make recommendations to the Dean of Enrollment Services and Provost Council regarding retention initiatives.

Sub-Committees

COMMUNICATIONS
Purpose: Effectively communicate committee progress and information to campus community utilizing various communication tools.

UPPERCLASSMEN
Purpose: Research and analyze retention data and trends; recommend strategies and initiatives involving upperclassmen, specifically sophomores.

MAROON & GOLD
Purpose: Organize and coordinate both the nomination and election process for the Maroon and Gold Awards.
