CHARLES M. MURPHY, Program Director
FACULTY: Charles Murphy
The Mortuary Science Program is a response to the increasing awareness among morticians that preparation for a career in their profession requires a broad educational background. In addition to the technical training appropriate to their art, members of the mortuary science profession require a high level of interpersonal sensitivity for compassionate and effective dealings with families in crisis. The program also includes courses in business management.
The B.S. in Mortuary Science requires three years of study on the Gannon campus, combined with one year of study at an accredited school of Mortuary Science.
The curriculum was designed by an advisory committee of professionals to include all the skills which they require in entry-level employees. Placement opportunities are excellent.
