The School of Engineering and Computer Science is comprised of three departments
of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer and
Information Science. This School also hosts the CIE/CIM Center, a continuing
education unit with a focus on Information Technology and Computer training.
Today we live in an era dominated by science and technology. Our standard of
living, national security, health, and economic position rest heavily on
scientific and technological achievements. In order to maintain our position and
preserve it for future generations, we must have continuous development of
well-educated scientific and technical personnel. The School of Engineering and
Computer Science works closely with local industry. As a result of this
cooperation, the students are able to participate in co-op and internships at
local companies.
CIE/CIM Center
This Center provides computer training to businesses,
individuals and Gannon students. The CIE/CIM Center is a Microsoft Authorized
Academic Training Program (AATP) and offers Microsoft-Certified courses. These
courses are available to interested students who wish to pursue a certificate
program in addition to their field of study. The certified courses are also
available as technical electives to the CIS students. The CIE/CIM Center also
provides training in Computer Aided Design (CAD), UNIX, Visual Basic, C/C++, and
