What advice would you give to current or prospective students?
Try to have your course load reflect a diversified education and not be primarily focused on courses in your major.
What do you like best about Gannon University?
The ability to get to know my students on a first name basis fairly quickly and the interaction afforded with the students and teachers because we pride ourselves on being a student-oriented teaching university. It’s all about learning about the students and getting to know them and helping them to learn in a way that is best for them.
Favorite Student Success Story:
Many of my students use music as a valuable assist in their dental practice and in their surgical suites. One of my former students did my hand surgeries and used some of the music that he’d been introduced to in my Intro/Music class during my hand surgery procedures.
Favorite Class to Teach:
All of them because I LOVE TEACHING!
Research Interests:
How music can affect every aspect of our living (while shopping, eating, relaxing, resting, exercising, etc.) and how to develop new courses based on these interests that can be useful in the students’ majors. I ‘ve developed a course in Music in Marketing and Advertising, for example, because of my interest in how music influences our desire, or lack of, to purchase the product being presented with that music AND what about that music has influenced our decision?
