Next 'Day with the Dean' Oct. 30
Students who are interested in the health professions and sciences will be on campus
Gannon University on Friday, Oct. 30 will welcome to campus some 20 high school students who are interested in the health professions and sciences.

The students will visit as part of Gannon’s “Day with the Dean,” which allows high school students and their parents to tour campus facilities and meet with current Gannon students, faculty members, and the dean from a particular academic discipline. On Friday, the students and their parents will meet Carolynn Masters, Ph.D., dean of the University’s Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences.

Participants will begin registering at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Robert H. Morosky Academic Center, 150 West 10th St., home to the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences. At 11 a.m., Masters will make some brief welcoming remarks in the Morosky Center’s main lobby.

At 11:15 a.m., the students and parents will tour the Morosky Center, including its new, state-of-the-art Patient Simulation Center located on the lower level. The Simulation Center has 14 human patient simulators and is designed to mirror a hospital environment, with areas that simulate an operating room, emergency room, labor/delivery area, pediatric unit, examination room, and a seven-station critical care area.

After a 12:30 p.m. lunch in the Beyer Hall cafeteria, 628 Peach St., the group will attend an admissions and financial aid presentation at 1:30 p.m. in room 219 of the Waldron Campus Center, 124 West 7th St.

The final event for the day will be a campus tour beginning at 2:15 p.m.
