Alumni to Celebrate Homecoming
Classes of 1959, 1969, and 1984 will celebrate Landmark Reunions
Gannon University will welcome hundreds of alumni to campus for the University’s annual Alumni Homecoming/Reunion Weekend, to be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Oct. 23-25.

Gannon and Villa Maria College classes of 1959 (50th), 1969 (40th), and 1984 (25th) will celebrate Landmark Reunions. Affinity reunions are scheduled for a number of groups, including for graduates of the Health Professions and Sciences and Computer and Information Science; Heritage Society; Student Government Association; African-American; Young Alumni (classes of 1999-2009); and the women’s volleyball and lacrosse programs.

Gannon’s annual Distinguished Alumni Dinner will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday in the Yehl Room of the Waldron Campus Center, 124 West 7th St. The honorees are:

• From the College of Engineering and Business: Dante C. Parrini ‘86, executive vice president/chief operating officer, Glatfelter Co., York, Pa.

• From the College of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences: Robert W. McGee, Ph.D., Esq. ‘69, director, Center for Accounting, Auditing, and Tax Studies, School of Accounting, Florida International University, Miami, Fla.

• From the College of Health Professions and Sciences (2): Eric Klann, Ph.D. ‘84, professor, New York University, Center for Neural Science, New York. Also, Thomas E. Dever, Ph.D. ‘84, senior investigator, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Md.

• Young Alumni Award: Kary J. Schroyer, D.O. ‘93, family practice physician, New Wilmington Family Medicine, New Wilmington, Pa.

• Monsignor Wilfrid J. Nash Principles of Christian Conduct Award: Evelyn Marie Prenatt Madonia ‘59 VMC, co-owner, East Coast Brokers & Packers, Inc., Plant City, Fla.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Gridley Park, West 6th and Liberty streets, and proceed over 6th Street toward Old Main, corner of Peach Street and South Park Row. In the Homecoming football game, also Saturday, Gannon will host Lock Haven at 1 p.m. at Gannon University Field, West 5th and Sassafras streets.

Saturday’s other activities include:
• Alumnae volleyball game, 10 a.m., Hammermill Center, 620 Peach St.

• An Open House for the Morosky Academic Center, 150 West 10th St., and its state-of-the-art Patient Simulation Center (located in the building’s lower level), 12:30-2:30 p.m. The Morosky Academic Center houses Gannon’s College of Health Professions and Sciences.

• Villa Maria Alumnae High Tea, 2:30-4 p.m., Courtyard Café, Morosky Academic Center.

• African-American Alumni Reception, 8-10 p.m., room 219, Waldron Center.

Sunday’s activities include:
• Hospitality, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Hagerty Lounge, Waldron Center.

• Alumni Homecoming Mass, 11 a.m., Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel, 520 Peach.

• Alumni Brunch with the President, 12 p.m., Old Main Boardroom.
