Book Discussion Oct. 20
Philip Beard, author of Dear Zoe, will be on campus
The Gannon University English Department on Tuesday, Oct. 20 will welcome author Philip Beard for a reading, discussion, and signing of his novel, Dear Zoe.

Sessions will be held at 9:30 a.m. and at 11 a.m. in the lower level lecture rooms of the University’s Nash Library, 619 Sassafras St. The sessions are free and open to the public.

Already translated into three foreign languages, Dear Zoe was a “Book Sense Pick,” a Borders “Original Voices” selection, and was named by the American Library Association as one of the “Ten Best First Novels of 2005.” The School Library Journal also selected it as one of the year’s Best Adult Books for High School Students.

Beard, a practicing attorney, will share his unique publishing story and answer questions about the novel, the writing process, and changing careers at age 40.
