Gannon University, Erie, Pa., is planning a special day of events for its considerable extended family in the greater Pittsburgh area.

The events for “Gannon is All over Pittsburgh” will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27 and are designed for high school students, Gannon alumni, and parents of current Gannon students living in the Pittsburgh area.

“This effort is the result of a great deal of planning and collaboration between our offices of Admissions and University Advancement as well as numerous other faculty, staff, and administrators,” said Gannon University President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D. “It will be a wonderful and valuable opportunity for us as a University to more closely connect with the more than 4,400 Gannon alumni and the parents of the nearly 700 current students who call the Pittsburgh area home.”

Gannon is All over Pittsburgh includes two primary events on Oct. 27:

• From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the University will host a luncheon for guidance counselors from high schools in the Pittsburgh area. The luncheon will be held at the Four Points Sheraton, 910 Sheraton Drive, in Mars. Dr. Garibaldi will make a brief presentation, and attendees also will be able to meet with Gannon faculty and staff. For more information, or to register, interested guidance counselors should contact Bridget Philip, assistant director, Gannon University Undergraduate Admissions, at 800-GANNON-U (800-426-6668), ext. 1., or through e-mail at philip001@gannon.edu. • From 6-8 p.m., the University will host a reception for prospective students, parents of current Gannon students, and Pittsburgh-area alumni. The reception is designed to allow attendees to reconnect with Gannon faculty, staff, and administrators while sharing their unique Gannon experiences. Dr. Garibaldi will make a brief presentation, and prospective students will be able to learn more about the University’s academic programs and campus life. The reception will be held at the Duquesne Club, 325 Sixth Ave. For more information, or to register, contact Tracy Stolz, Gannon University Office of Alumni Services, at 877-GU-Alums, ext. 1, or through e-mail at stolz005@gannon.edu.
