Students Serving as Commuter Advisors
Advisors provide valuable help to their fellow commuters
Four local Gannon University students will be serving as commuter advisors for the 2009-10 academic year.
The students are:
• Joshua Angelotti of the City of Erie is the son of Edward and Diane Angelotti. He is a graduate of Mercyhurst Prep and is a sport and exercise science major.
• Lisa M. Carey of the City of Erie is an English major.
• Thomas A. Panighetti of Venango is the son of Richard and Benita Panighetti. He is a graduate of Cathedral Prep and is a political science major.
• Brian M. Wojtkielewicz of Millcreek is the son of Joe and Carol Wojtkielewicz. He is a graduate of McDowell High School and is a biology/pre-medicine major. A video titled “A Day in the Life of a Commuter Student,” featuring Wojtkielewicz, can be found on the Gannon home page, http://www.gannon.edu/, and at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-DGXkizsBA.
Commuter advisors are current Gannon students who serve students living off campus. Each advisor is responsible for planning three commuter life events per semester as well as involving commuters in campus life.
Commuter advisors maintain bulletin boards and print monthly newsletters and fliers for commuter life events. They also help maintain the University’s commuter facilities and keep office hours where commuters can go to them for support and guidance.
