Dr. Garibaldi To Serve on National Panel
Gannon President also named to Council of Presidents for AGB
Gannon University President Antoine M. Garibaldi, Ph.D., will be part of a national panel convened by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
The workshop, “The CAO/CFO Collaboration: Working Effectively in Difficult Economic Times,” will be held July 29-31 in Washington, D.C. Garibaldi’s panel, titled “Managing the Economic Landscape,” will focus on how chief academic officers (CAOs) and chief financial officers (CFOs) can work as a team to achieve the institution’s mission within economic constraints, as well as how institutions can balance short-term and long-term goals.
In addition, Garibaldi and the other panelists will facilitate small-group discussions related to critical issues currently facing higher education institutions and their leaders.
NACUBO is a membership organization representing more than 2,500 colleges, universities, and higher education service providers nationally and internationally. The association’s mission is to advance the economic viability and business practices of higher education institutions in fulfillment of their academic missions. Garibaldi is serving a second, three-year term on NACUBO’s Board of Directors and is the only university president on the NACUBO Board.
Garibaldi has also been appointed to the Council of Presidents for the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.
As a council member, Garibaldi will participate in the functioning of the council, participate in one council meeting annually, and provide ad hoc advice as needed.
The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges is the only national association that serves the interests and needs of academic governing boards, the boards of institutionally-related foundations, and campus CEOs and administrators on issues related to higher education governance and leadership. The organization has more than 1,200 member institutions, including colleges and universities and their foundation boards.
