ROTC Cadets Honored
Three commissioned, and two honored as DMGs
Three Gannon University ROTC cadets recently were commissioned as 2nd lieutenants in the United States Army.

Two of the cadets, Brian A. Yoder, Jr., of Reading, Pa., and Ryan C. Genard of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., also were honored as Distinguished Military Graduates. The Distinguished Military Graduate (DMG) designation is based on criteria such as high scholarship, high moral character, military aptitude, and leadership ability.

A third cadet, Benjamin J. Moore of Saegertown, Pa., was commissioned.

Cadet Brian A. Yoder, Jr., is the son of Brian Yoder, Sr., and Bonnie Lynn Finkbone and is a graduate of Muhlenberg High School. He was a business administration major at Gannon. Yoder ranked in the top 1 percent of all ROTC graduates nationally. His first assignment will be at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, followed by service in military intelligence at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Cadet Ryan C. Genard is the son of James and Cynthia Genard and is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School. He was a science/pre-med major at Gannon. Genard ranked in the top 20 percent of all ROTC graduates nationally. He will begin his training at Fort Benning, Ga., followed by service in the signal corps.

Cadet Benjamin J. Moore is the son of Richard and Julie Moore and is a graduate of Saegertown High School. He was a criminal justice major at Gannon. Moore’s first assignment will be at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, followed by continued service in the military police.

Yoder, Genard, and Moore also participated in Gannon University’s May Commencement ceremony with their classmates.
