Students Honored at Commencement
Gannon University honored 12 graduates during its Spring Commencement ceremony, held Saturday, May 9.
The University’s Archbishop John Mark Gannon Award annually is presented for academic excellence in memory of Gannon’s founder, Archbishop John Mark Gannon. During this year’s May ceremony, 12 students, listed below, graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
• Asya A. Ayrapetov of Erie, Pa., is the daughter of Liliya and Albert Ayrapetov and is a graduate of Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology.
• Jennifer L. Bennett of Lordstown, Ohio, is the daughter of Jeff and Lisa Bennett and is a graduate of Lordstown High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Emily R. Cahill of Mentor, Ohio, is the daughter of Thomas and Patricia Cahill and is a graduate of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences.
• Mallory L. Croston of Beaver Falls, Pa., is the daughter of Tim and Kris Croston and is a graduate of Blackhawk High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, and special education.
• Melissa A. Hanely of Neilltown, Pa., is the daughter of Martin and Paula Hanley and is a graduate of Venango Catholic High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theology.
• Caleb R. Hatch of Erie, Pa., is the son of Richard and Merita Hatch and is a graduate of Fort LeBoeuf High School. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences.
• Allison N. Jones of New Castle, Pa., is the daughter of Dave and Sharon May and is a graduate of Mohawk High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Kaylee A. Kebort of Hartstown, Pa., is the daughter of Brian and Andrea Kebort and is a graduate of Conneaut Lake High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
• Jessica L. Lovick of Mantua, Ohio, is the daughter of David and Dawn Lovick and is a graduate of Crestwood High School. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences.
• Daniel P. Maljovec of Warren, Pa., is the son of John and Patricia Maljovec and is a graduate of Warren Area High School. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
• Joseph E. Pawlowski of Erie, Pa., is the son of Christine Pawlowski and is a graduate of Villa Maria Academy. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Kristen M. Rajczak of Williamsville, N.Y., is the daughter of Michael and Susan Rajczak and is a graduate of The Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English.
Including the graduates from the May 9 ceremony, and from Gannon’s December Commencement, 1,149 students earned Gannon degrees for the 2008-09 academic year, the largest number ever for the University.
