More about McGowan Scholarships
The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund awards $18,000 tuition scholarships to seniors and graduate students studying in business schools accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

McGowan founded MCI Communications Corp. in 1968. His success with MCI allowed him to be a philanthropist. Being awarded a Baker Scholarship while at Harvard University helped him complete his education; hence, he generously provides similar opportunities for other deserving business students.

Selection of the McGowan Scholarships is based on attributes of scholarship, talent, leadership qualities, character, and community involvement. Merry is the 12th School of Business student at Gannon to earn the scholarship and the accompanying designation as the McGowan Scholar.
