Students to Serve Community
Gannon University community will volunteer for local agencies and organizations through United Way Day of Caring
More than 400 Gannon University students will participate in community service as part of United Way Day of Caring, to be held Saturday, April 25.

Teams of Gannon students will work at numerous agencies and sites from approximately 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday. The sites, including the type of work to be done at each, are:

Anti-Graffiti Task Force, West 26th and Plum streets, graffiti removal.

Bethany Outreach Center, 254 East 10th St., yard work, window washing.

Booker T. Washington Center, 1720 Holland St., general landscaping.

Brevillier Village, 5416 East Lake Road, outdoor cleanup.

Community of Caring, 261 East 21st St., landscaping, preparing a community garden.

Erie Downtown Partnership, downtown Erie to 14th St. and Sassafras to Holland, general cleaning.

ExpERIEnce Children’s Museum, 420 French St., general cleaning.

Greater Erie Area Habitat for Humanity, 413 East 9th; 525 East 3rd St., general cleaning.

HANDS, 2543 West 8th St., helping residents with miscellaneous chores, general cleaning.

House of Mercy, 2005 Woodlawn Ave., picking up trash.

International Institute of Erie, 517 East 26th St. landscaping, cleaning.

L’Arche Erie, 337 East 8th; 1408 Summer Dr.; 1028 West 9th; 4448 Perkins, general cleaning, planting flowers, and yard work.

Mercy Center for Women, 1039 East 27th St., general cleaning.

Neighborhood Art House, 201 East 10th St., general and spring cleaning.

Neighborhood Group/Call, Gridley Park, West 6th and Liberty streets, raking leaves and park cleanup.

Perry-Square Alliance, cleanup.

Presque Isle, picking up trash.

Quality of Life Learning Center, 2046 East 19th St., planting flowers and vegetables for community garden.

SafeNet, 240 East 10th St., painting and general cleaning.

Second Harvest Food Bank, 1507 Grimm Dr., help with repacking, labeling, and sorting food.

SSJ Neighborhood Network, 425 West 18th St., picking up trash.
