THE FAMILY EDUCATION RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT of 1974 (FERPA)
This act protects the privacy of all students studying at institutions to which funds have been made available. FERPA prohibits Gannon University from releasing your personal information, including Admission status, to anyone that you do not give the University written permission to do so.

- Non-refundable application fee of $25.00 drawn on a prime U.S. bank or international money order. To pay by credit card complete the appropriate area on Gannon's International Admissions application.
- Official copies of academic records from each secondary/high school attended accompanied by official, literal English translations.
- A personal statement (essay) must be submitted. This statement should include information concerning your life, education, practical experience, special interests, and specific purpose in applying to Gannon.
- Submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores or other evidence of English proficiency if native language is not English. A minimum score of 500 (paper test) or 173 (computer test) is required for admissions consideration. (Institutional TOEFL results are not accepted) . We also accept L.I.F.E. program level 12, ESL Language Center level 109, and an IELTS band score of 6.5 in lieu of TOEFL. For international students whose native language is English, the SAT or ACT is required.
- Affidavit of Support Form
This is required by United States immigration law for verification of financial resources available to meet your educational expenses.
- Two letters of recommendation.
Additional Items for Transfer Applicants
- Official transcripts from every college or university attended accompanied by official, literal English translations. For international institutions an evaluation from an international evaluation consultant may be required.
- International students who have completed less than a full academic year of college (at least 30 semester hours) must also request official transcripts from their secondary/high schools.
- Complete the Transfer Applicant Evaluation Form and submit it to the Dean of Students at all colleges or universities previously attended. Receipt of this form is required in order to complete final registration.

- Previous courses with grades of “C” or better will be considered for transfer to Gannon. The Dean of the college in which the student plans to enroll completes the formal evaluation of transfer credits once a student has applied and been accepted. To expedite evaluation, students should forward a course catalogue, course descriptions or course syllabi and up-to-date transcripts from their former institutions as soon as they receive notice of acceptance to Gannon.
DEFER ATTENDANCE
Application and admission deferments up to three academic years are permitted. Please use the online form to submit your request.
It is recommended that you apply by October 1 for our Spring term which starts in mid-January. Apply by June 1st for the Fall semester which starts in late August.
An Application for Admission and all supporting documents must be received in order for a student’s application to be considered for admission.
All transcripts and score reports must be sent directly from the school/test center in separate, sealed envelopes to our Admissions Office, and must be accompanied by official, literal English translations.
Transcripts become the permanent property of Gannon University and cannot be returned or transferred.
